Our Mission
Leading with a community mindset, we believe in spreading the beauty of Haiti, uplifting Haitians, and sharing our history and culture. We are committed to fostering unity, preserving our heritage, and empowering our diaspora community in the North Shore area.
Our Vision
To create a thriving, connected Haitian diaspora community where our culture is celebrated, our youth are empowered, and our collective strength drives positive change. We envision a future where L'Union Fait La Force - Unity Makes Strength - is lived out in every aspect of our community life.
Our Story
The North Shore Haitian Association was born from a simple yet powerful idea: that when Haitians come together with a shared purpose, we can create meaningful change in our communities. Founded in Lynn, Massachusetts, NSHA emerged from conversations among community members who recognized the need for an organization that would celebrate our culture while addressing the unique challenges faced by Haitian families in the North Shore area.
Our founders understood that preserving Haitian culture and supporting our diaspora community required more than individual efforts—it demanded collective action rooted in our shared values of unity, resilience, and mutual support. From humble beginnings, NSHA has grown into a vital community resource, organizing cultural events, providing educational support, and creating spaces where Haitian heritage is celebrated and passed on to future generations.
Today, we continue to honor our founding principles while adapting to meet the evolving needs of our community. Every program we offer, every event we host, and every connection we facilitate is guided by our unwavering commitment to the belief that L'Union Fait La Force.
